Joseph Edward Duncan III, a convicted pedophile was caught at the Coeur d'Alene restaurant, with his victim; an 8 year old girl. Duncan had kidnapped 8-year-old Shasta and her older brother at the age of nine. He forced upon them torturing and even forced them to watch each other get molested. Eventually, Duncan killed Shata's brother, somehow managed to kill her mother and her mother's fiance. This extremely sick man was given the death penalty and very much deserves it.

I wish things in life were so clearly decided. Seems like the harm this man has done to his victims and society deserve some form of punishment. Is death the last option after all else has failed, or do we execute someone because our emotions are triggered?
Is there more about this story that makes it so obviously evil?
What else can we do to give relief to the survivors and to make sense of this crime?
